Cory Froning MSW Psychotherapist

Cory (she/her) is a social worker and psychotherapist. She holds an MSW from the University of Vermont and a BA in Social Theory and Practice and Sustainable Food Systems from the University of Michigan. Cory is passionate about providing holistic, accessible mental health care for her community. Her professional path blends social work approaches with healing practices grounded in the outdoors, movement, and nutrition. Her previous experience includes mentoring, cooking, and gardening at a local youth services agency; leading a therapeutic food program, and practicing nature-based therapy. Cory enjoys working with teens, adults, and parents of all walks of life. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in acceptance, relationality, collaboration, and social constructionism – the understanding that how we move through the world is shaped by systems, relationships, experiences, and context. Outside of Essex Pediatrics, Cory co-owns a working farm with her husband and three friends, where they find joy in learning from the land and growing food, flowers, and native plants.
