Shannon Porter Mental Health Coordinator
Shannon Porter (she/her) is the mental health coordinator on our team. She has a passion for supporting children and families with access to the most appropriate mental health care. Shannon graduated from Assumption College with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is native to Massachusetts where she grew up spending time at the beach. Shannon moved to Vermont in 2017 after volunteering for a year with an Americorps program, City Year, in San Antonio, Texas. While in San Antonio, Shannon had the privilege of tutoring and mentoring high school students. It was there she developed a strong interest in community development and social justice. Shannon has experience navigating the Vermont mental health system of care, providing Psychoeducation to children and families, and directly supporting patients with their mental health treatment goals. Shannon is a certified RPC + instructor and is a Mental Health First Aid trainer. In her free time, you can find her hiking, biking, and exploring Vermont’s beautiful landscapes with her partner and her goldendoodle.
